Squirrels have large bushy tail and the body is adaptable for climbing and jumping over fences and across branches. They eat a wide variety of foods including nuts, seeds, conifer cones, fruits, fungi, green vegetation and insects.
Squirrels are generally clever and persistent animals. They have keen sense of smell to locate buried nuts and can dig extensive holes in the process. They do extensive damage to homes, garden plats, nut growers, forests and electric transmission lines.
