Beetles

Beetles can live both within households and outdoors; and various species of beetle can feed upon both plant and animal matter. The Colorado Potato Beetle is a notorious potato-plant pest; destroying crops. Once a serious infestation has set in; this species can often only be removed by pesticide usage. Another member of the beetle family, the Death Watch beetle, attacks and destroys hardwoods, such as oak and chestnut - threatening older buildings. Other species attack cotton plants, flower beds and greenhouses.
