These pests are most common in wet climates and eat plants, especially tender leaves; damaging crops and flower patches.

The most commonly used chemical control is in the form of slug pellets. These can be used around edible and non-edible plants and over time will be transformed by micro-organisms into iron and phosphate; to become part of the soil.
